A new proposal may make this a reality! Currently, unless you are a Mexican national, you purchase property that falls within Mexico's "Restricted Zone" using a fidecomiso or in a foreign owned corporation. A change to the law has been proposed by Mexican Senator Mario López Valdez wherein foreign ownership may no longer require either of these instruments.
