I was thinking of coming down in late October, but my friend may be canceling. I am considering trying solo travel, but have some questions. Looking at places to stay, as a solo traveler my budget is low. I have found some appropriate priced condos & hotels, but wondering about location. Safety is big consideration & being able to walk to restaurants, etc. I have been to the Yucatan several times, but never Playa Del Carmen so not familiar with lay of the land. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Let me know where the rentals are that you are considering, and I would be happy to help you get familiarized with Playa. In terms of safety I have lived here for nearly 7 years and live outside of the tourist zone, and I have never felt unsafe when I have been on my own.....

I was looking at an apartment on Flamingos & calle 42 norte. I am now thinking more affordable & closer walking distances to food & eve out if I stay closer to town. Looking at maybe Hotel Banana or Aventura Mexicana.
