There are a few banks to choose from, but we personally have had the best experience with Bancomer and the the new Senior Segment Manager for Banking and Investments for the Preferred Customers Unit BBVA Bancomer in the Riviera Maya region posted this information in another section of the forum. I thought I would include the same post here:

We have opened a VIP checking account with Bancomer and found the service to be exceptional. We opened our account in the Centro Maya Preferred Customers Office which I believe has now moved to the office on 10th Avenue in the Tendenza Building. The process is easy and fairly quick. Oscar is very easy to reach my email and even helped me process a credit card application so that I can use my Bancomer account to shop online (airline tickets etc.) Two thumbs up for Bancomer. I should also add that we use and highly recommend their mortgage services for our Buyers.

Oscar is the MAN! He is easy to work with, and very helpful as well. Just to clarify they are opening an additional PCU on 10th at the Tendenza Building, but they will remain in Centro Maya as well.
